My last post was about letting go of the past. In this post I will discuss letting go of the past but learning from it.
The past is the past, and nothing can be done to change it. There are things we all wish we could do over, but that won’t happen no matter how hard we wish. Nothing can be done about the past, but rehashing or dwelling on the past is only going to get in the way of the future.
Things happen because God allows them to happen. Things may happen that we don’t like, but they’re still a part of God’s plan for us. The only thing that we can do is to learn from the past and become smarter and wiser because of the things we’ve been through.
As I wrote in a previous blog, I have made some financial mistakes in my past. I can’t dwell on that or live in remorse and regret forever. What I can do is learn to be financially smarter and wiser with my money. I can also use my past to teach others as well so that they can also learn from my mistakes.
Once again I will end this post with a Bible quote:
Isaiah 43:18-19 “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
