Since it’s Easter I wanted to do a blog post about Easter and the resurrection. Jesus died for our sins on the cross. Not only did he die on the cross, but he overcame death and rose from the dead three days later.
We normally think of death as a sad thing, but the death of Jesus was not a sad thing. He had to die for our sins so that we can have eternal life in heaven. Jesus didn’t stay dead and if we accept him and follow his will we won’t stay dead forever.
God promised us eternal life in heaven if we want it. God also gave us his Son so that we can have a way to get to him. As Jesus said in the bible, no one is going to get to God unless they go through him.
Why did Jesus die on the cross for us? The answer is simple, because he loves us. I know a lot of people think that they’re unworthy of Gods love, but it’s not the case. God created us in his image. God commands us to love one another because he himself is love.
As Christians we can rejoice and say that Jesus is alive. We can celebrate God and Gods triumph over sin. In fact, God calls us to share the news of the death and resurrection of Christ.
God bless you and have a great Easter!
Since tomorrow is my birthday I decided to do my blog about birthdays. Birthdays are a day we tend to focus on ourselves and the fact that we were born. I am guilty of it myself. As Christians we should take the time to remember that it was really God who created us and made our birth possible. God is also the one who has been there for us since our births and will be there even after your worldly death.
Normally we make a birthday wish for ourselves every year. Why do we do this? Yes, it is our birthday but do we not care about others or the rest of the world? What do we do with the birthday gifts that we get? Do we hoard them all or do we share some of it with those who need it more? Sometimes if I get money for my birthday I’ll donate a little of it to a church or charity. Last year I shared my birthday gift with my beloved cat.
Sometimes on our birthdays we can get sad thinking about getting older. Instead of getting sad, I get happy that I’m getting a little closer to being in heaven. Sometimes we can also get sad that we didn’t get what we really wanted as well. Remember, God has the ability to give you what you want any day of the year. Just ask him for it!
Thank you for reading my post and may God bless you with many more birthdays to come!
11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as a father the son in whom he delights.
It can be easy to despise Gods discipline. It can be easy to despise God when things go bad in our lives. We need Gods discipline in our lives or Satan will prevail.
When God disciplines us it means that it’s time to repent and ask him for forgiveness. It also means that we have fallen off God’s path and need to find our way back onto it.
It can be hard to know that God will rebuke us, but he rebukes us because he loves us. After God is done reproofing, he always pours favor on us and blesses us.
It’s better to be disciplined and punished by God then have to face an eternity in hell. Gods discipline is not punishment, it’s simply his way of showing us the errors of our ways and bringing us closer to him.
All Christians get tempted at some point or another. Men and women tend to get tempted by different things but we are all human and none of us can escape temptation. It is wrong to continue falling into the same temptations or make excesses for sins, and when we give into temptation or sin we must ask for Gods strength and forgiveness. It’s important to ask for Gods strength as soon as possible or sin can end up having a bad snowball effect.
We need to avoid sins and tempting situations as much as we can, but we can’t completely close our eyes to these things either. We need to know what’s out there and ask God for his protection. We must also forgive others when they sin against us. If we don’t forgive others, God will not forgive us. As Christians we also can’t look down on others for sinning because it’s something every single person does. Christians are not perfect and they make mistakes like anybody else. We also can’t judge others for their sins because only God has that right.
It can be easy to feel bad and guilty when we sin, but we shouldn’t let those feelings get the best of us. We shouldn’t feel that we’re not worthy of forgiveness either. God is a forgiving God, you just have to ask for it. None of us truly deserve forgiveness but it’s a gift that God has given us out of love. Remember, even Jesus was tempted when we lived in our world.
It can be very hard to wait for things. However, there are going to be times when God makes us wait. Sometimes God makes people wait a long time. It’s not easy when that happens, but God gets those people through it. I happen to be one of those people. I’m still waiting for good things to happen in my life, and I know that they’re going to happen soon. I’m often told that I have an incredible amount of patience. When God makes a person wait a long time he really makes sure that they’re equipped!
I don’t know when good things are going to happen to me or what’s going to happen to me, but I know that things are going to come my way which will be better then anything I can imagine. Things have been slowly getting better for me over the last few months, and I know that they’re only going to keep on getting better. God has a special will for me here on earth and I can’t wait to fulfill it!
If you’re someone like me who is a waiting phase, stay patience and keep praying for God to give you more patience. While you’re waiting on him spend some time with him and get to know him better. If you know someone who happens to be in a waiting phase, give them all the support and encouragement for them. Pray for them and also don’t forget to pray with them.
Sometimes we do things that we have to forgive ourselves for. Sometimes people do things to us which we have to forgive. No matter what the circumstance is, it’s important to let go. Not letting go only leads to bitterness and resentment. The past is done and nothing can change that. It isn’t easy to let go of things or to forgive sometimes, but God has the power and strength we need.
It can be harder for women to forgive then men, but we are all called to forgive. Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Sometimes it can be hard to forgive yourself too, especially since hindsight is 20/20. It’s even more important to forgive others even if they don’t think they did anything wrong. Matthew 6:14,15: “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Jesus forgave those who put him on the cross, and if he can forgive that, we can forgive people for the things they do to us.
If we can’t let go of the past, then we can’t move forward with Jesus. The past is just a worldly past and nothing matters but our relationship with God and others. Not being able to let go is also bad for our bodies and causes ulcers, high blood pressure, insomnia, etc. As God says, our bodies are temples which we need to take care of.
My final thought for the blog: Forgiveness is powerful and opens up the door to grace.
I’m working on a new habit of praying before I eat at least once a day. It’s important to give thanks to God and it’s important to pray as well. Giving thanks and praying helps a relationship with God strengthen and grow. God is the one who provides us with everything and makes sure our needs are taken care of, and it’s important to remember this.
It’s important to be thankful for the things we have and not take them for granted. Thanksgiving is not just for holidays, it’s for every day. Many of us don’t know what it’s like to go without food or water, but we must be appreciative. We must also think of those who have to go without and pray for them and help them in any way we can.
Whether you give thanks before or after you eat, it’s important to give thanks. Whether you give thanks in your heart or out loud, God will hear it. If you’re ashamed of talking to God at work, take into account that God is ashamed of those who are ashamed of him. It can even be a way to reach out to those who don’t know God and make fishers of men. I can only speak for myself but my food tastes better when I give thanks for it.
If you have pets or had them in the past, you know how they love their owners unconditionally. They’re loving creatures who don’t judge, criticize, blame or find fault. Pets are affectionate, devoted, and faithful. These are the reasons that owners so attached to their pets. It’s hard to understand if you’ve never had one yourself, but it’s the truth. They’re creatures created by God, and they’re just as they were intended to be. Before falling from grace, humans were sinless and faultless as well. God loves us all unconditionally, and He wants us to love unconditionally as well.
God tells us not to judge one another and to not hate one another. In fact, we’re even supposed to love our enemies and show them kindness. While we may dislike the sin, we should not hate the sinner. We all sin so it’s not right to hate one person for sins and not another. It may be hard to love sometimes, but when that happens it’s best to turn to God for strength and comfort. Next time you feel the desire to hate, think about your pet or a relative or friends pet if you’ve never had one yourself.
A main reason I decided to try getting a masters of art in teaching was foolish pride. I was told that I can’t become a teacher and that made me angry. Instead of taking the time to think about what’s best for me, I decided to press on and prove them wrong. If I never tried to get my masters I would have always wondered what would have happened. Now I’m left wondering how things would have turned out if I had waited to pursue my masters of if I had picked a different school.
Don’t let anger, pride, or frustration lead you into making hasty decisions. Sometimes when people tell you that you can’t do something it’s really God trying to tell you that it’s not part of his plans for you. I will always regret the choice I made and I can’t take it back. If I could undo the hasty decisions I made I would in a heartbeat. The best I can do is move on and hope that others can learn from my mistake.
I constantly regret what I did, but I know it’s not good to harp on the past. What is done is done so I have to live with it. Don’t let what other people tell you cloud your mind. Worry about yourself and your future. There is a calling that God has for you, and nobody can tell you what it is. The choices you make will stick with you for the rest of your life, so take the time to think about them and make them wisely. Take the time to listen to your heart as well, your heart will steer you in the right direction.
I’ve been hearing a lot of reports on the news lately regarding the lgbt community and hatred. I don’t condone gay marriage, but I believe that what other people do is none of my business. Yes, God takes a strong stance against gay acts in the Bible, but what people do is between them and God. God gave us free will, and what we chose to do with it is our decision. The Bible also tells us not to judge others. According to the Bible, we will be judged according to how we judge others.
There are those who say that legalizing gay marriage will only lead to catastrophe. While this may or may not be true, it’s all in Gods hands. Perhaps catastrophe is a part of Gods plans. Does allowing gay people to marry really take away from the sanctity of marriage? How much sanctity does marriage have as a whole these days with all the cheating and divorces anyway? A marriage between a man and a woman can still be seen as sacred even if gays are allowed to marry too.
The Bible’s biggest commandment is to love one another. This includes people of all sexual orientations and preferences. Jesus never hated anyone when he walked the earth, and we shouldn’t either. No matter who we are, we are all children of God. We all sin, and all sin is equal in Gods eyes. Hate the sin but don’t hate the sinner.
